County Superintendent of Schools
The office of County Superintendent of Schools is provided by and for the people living in the county. The Superintendent is expected to provide the best possible service for all the schools in the county. As Chief School Financial Officer, job responsibilities include supervision of public schools. This includes recording, registering and preserving all official records; advising school trustees; acting as the hearing officer on all matters of school controversy resulting from decisions of the district trustees; chairing the County Transportation Committee; calculating budgets and levies for all budgets within the county; registering and recording professional and teacher licenses and providing educational information to the public.
